The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 could be lighter than ever and bigger battery capacities are also rumored

Samsung is reportedly trying to pull off the rather clever trick of making
its foldables lighter while also boosting battery capacities improvements which might arrive with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 , due around the middle of the year.

This comes from South Korean outlet Maeil Business (via SamMobile ), and according to the report the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will tip the scales at a mere 200 grams. That's down from the 215 grams that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
weighs.

As for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, that's going to shed 38 grams to get down to 150 grams. Considering the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is already very thin and
light, it would be quite the feat if Samsung was able to pull this off.

It seems Samsung is going to try its hardest not to raise the prices of its devices, despite the increasing costs of parts and manufacturing. Another prediction from this Maeil Business report is that the Galaxy Z Fold
8 is in line to get a battery capacity boost: up to 5,000mAh, up from
4,400mAh on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 (which had the same battery capacity as its predecessor).

A lighter frame and a bigger battery? It's a tough ask, but if Samsung can manage it, it would be very welcome. We've also heard that S Pen support may return for Samsung foldables this year, to help compete with the rumored iPhone Fold

As always with speculation and rumors, it's wise to add a pinch or two of salt. Well-known tipster @UniverseIce has suggested that the reduced weight
of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be 180 grams rather than 150 grams, which seems more realistic.

The same article also gives us a few tips about the Galaxy S26, which is due in February it will apparently come with a bigger 4,300mAh battery (up from 4,000mAh), and boast new camera and privacy features as well.
