The MacBook Air M4 is often on sale, so while this discount isn't unusual, it's about as good as it gets for an Apple product. You can also grab it for AU$1,347 from JB Hi-Fi. Want to know more about the laptop? Take a look at
our MacBook Air 13-inch M4 review for the full insight. As a comparison, the M4 Air is AU$1,699 from Apple . View Deal Best MacBook deal

This compact machine has a decently powerful Snapdragon X Plus CPU paired
with 16GB of RAM, and can happily take on any everyday tasks. It also has a 16:10 (1920 x 1200) IPS display with a high 300-nit brightness and 100%
DCI-P3 colour reproduction, and a facial-recognition webcam. As a comparison, JB Hi-Fi has the same model discounted down to AU$999 . View Deal

This large screen 2-in-1 from HP uses the latest Series 2 Core Ultra 5 226 CPU, for solid performance and long battery life. The 16-inch laptop has a 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen display, a decent amount of RAM and storage plus the latest features like Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4 and a facial recognition webcam. Make sure to apply the code HPNV20 at checkout to get the full discount. View Deal

This compact 2-in-1 is a basic machine but considering the price, the spec is excellent. It's normally sold at AU$1,398 by Dell, but recently they dropped the price to AU$998.8, and you can take an extra 5% off with code FUTURE5% . The Ryzen AI 5 340 is decently powerful for a mid-range system and the 1920 x 1200 resolution touchscreen being able to fold back through 360 degrees is super handy. View Deal

Ignore the inflated RRP, but for the spec, this is a great price for a versatile 2-in-1 HP Envy x360, and as a comparison, the discounted price from HP is AU$1,299 (AU$1,234 with code FUTURE5 ). It features a grunty Ryzen 7 8840HS CPU along with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Plus, of course, it has a 1920 x 1200 16-inch touchscreen that conveniently folds through 360
degrees. Use the code HPNV20 at checkout to get the full discount. View Deal

This compact machine has a powerful AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS CPU paired with 16GB
of RAM, and can happily take on your daily workload. It also has premium extras such as a 16:10 (1920 x 1200) 13.3-inch touchscreen display with a
high 400-nit brightness and 100% sRGB colour reproduction, and a facial-recognition webcam. View Deal

While we have seen slightly cheaper prices in the past for the older 16GB M2 MacBook Air, it's still a solid option for those who need a capable yet affordable machine. Want to know if that's the right move? Check out our
Apple MacBook Air (M2, 2022) review. View Deal

This is a cracker of a deal, considering the ThinkBook G8 was AU$1,749 not long ago (though Amazon does not show it). The laptop uses the powerful new Series 2 Intel Core 7 240H CPU, 32GB of RAM and a fast NVMe 512GB SSD. The only downside is the display, with a 1920 x 1200 resolution and 45% NTSC colour. But if you are connecting it to an external display (or three) via HDMI or Thunderbolt 4, then you won't care. View Deal

In our review , we found this Snapdragon X-powered laptop to have impressive battery life and a vibrant OLED display panel, all while in a sleek form factor that weighs just a smidge under a kilogram. The main drawback was the price (especially the higher-end Snapdragon X Elite variant), but with JB offering AU$700 off, this makes the Zenbook A14 cheaper than competitors like the base M4 MacBook Air or the 7th-gen Windows Surface Laptop. View Deal

This larger 15-inch Slim 5 is hard to recommend at the AU$2,259 web price,
but the discount here makes it an excellent deal. It uses a powerful AMD
Ryzen 7 7735HS CPU plus a top-notch 32GB of RAM, so it's well suited to those who need a more powerful machine. It also has a very nice 16:10 (2560 x 1600) OLED display with a high 500-nit brightness and 100% DCI-P3 colour reproduction. Just make sure you pay AU$11 extra when checking out for the upgraded 70Wh battery. View Deal

The IdeaPad Pro offers efficient performance with its AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processor, 24GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD all powered by a big 84Wh battery. It also includes premium features like an IR webcam for facial recognition and a large 16-inch, 120Hz, 2800 x 1800 OLED screen that boasts 100% DCI-P3 colour and a 500-nit brightness.

Or grab it with a Ryzen AI 7 CPU, 32GB RAM and an RTX 5050 for AU$1,999 .

This extra large 16-inch Slim 5 has scored a excellent discount from the rather high RRP. It uses the new AMD Ryzen 7 AI 350 and 32GB of RAM, plus has an excellent 16:10 (2880 x 1800) OLED display with a high 500-nit brightness and 100% DCI-P3 colour reproduction.

You can also get the Ryzen 5, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD version for AU$1,269 , which is a solid deal. View Deal

TechRadars recommended laptop for most people in 2025 is a Windows device
once again, thanks to Microsoft going with Qualcomms Snapdragon X Plus and X Elite ARM CPUs to match the performance and efficiency found in Apple Silicon-powered MacBooks. The Surface Laptop 7 line also features high-DPI
IPS displays with touchscreens, featuring 400-nit brightness and excellent colour reproduction . While ARM laptops arent best for those with very specific software requirements due to (now rare) potential compatibility issues, I reckon this is a solid discount.

The Snapdragon X Elite variant is also on sale from AU$1,748 , and the
    15-inch starts at AU$1,888 . View Deal

This laptop has an impressive spec for the price, with an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 Processor CPU, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. It also has a very nice 2880 x 1800 OLED display, a facial recognition webcam, Wi-Fi 7 and a 70Wh battery. View Deal

The Dell 16 Plus launched at AU$2,600, then dropped to AU$2,099 not long after, then AU$1,598.30, and now you can get it for AU$1,517.38 using the
code FUTURE5% at checkout. That's not bad for this powerful laptop
especially since it has a 2560x1600 display, plus extras like Thunderbolt 4 USB-C and Wi-Fi 7. View Deal

X Elite X1E78100 CPU, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. It also has a very nice 2944 x 1840 OLED touchscreen display that outputs 100% of the sRGB gamut. We have seen this machine slightly cheaper, but it's still a solid deal at this
    price. View Deal

This tiny saving on this MacBook Pro is currently the best deal going on the base model, which shows how little the laptop gets in the way of discounts.

The variant with a M4 Pro CPU and 24GB RAM costs AU$3,299 from Apple , but
you can grab it for slightly less from Amazon at AU$2,994 . View Deal

This mighty but slim laptop comes with an Intel Ultra 7 255H CPU paired with an Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU, plus 32GB of RAM. It's aimed at creators who need a powerful but still fairly portable machine and features a 16-inch 2880 x 1800 OLED display and a big 84Wh battery. The Victus 15 with RTX 4050 is often sold around the AU$1,500 mark (and the Ryzen & variant is AU$1,699 from HP ), but it's now discounted on the HP eBay store to AU$1,399. Then, using code HPDC20 , you get an extra 20% off, bringing the price down to an excellent AU$1,119.20. It was AU$999.20 during Black Friday, but this is the lowest I have seen since. And overall it's a solid deal for a Core i5 RTX 4050 machine, as it's more than capable of
decent frame rates on the 15-inch, 1080p, 144Hz screen. View Deal

This 16-inch gaming machine from ASUS packs a Nvidia RTX 5050 GPU and a 165Hz IPS panel promising low-midrange performance. The TUF Gaming F16 has an older but still reasonably grunty Intel Core i5-13450HX processor and doesn't limit the TGP of the GPU. While the review from our colleague at Toms Hardware dinged the F16 for having a smallish (at least for gaming) 512GB SSD and average battery life, with this discount, it's a pretty good deal. View Deal

For gamers on a budget, the LOQ laptop lineup is quite affordable and makes for a solid mid-range buy at the current discount. Working alongside the 100W TGP RTX 5060 GPU, the LOQ has an older but grunty Intel Core i5-13450HX CPU and 16GB of RAM. It's not exactly the most powerful machine, but the RTX 5060 will give decent frame rates on the 1080p, 144Hz display. View Deal

The HP Victus 15 with an RTX 5060 recently got a discount from the rather aspirational AU$2,799 list price, down to a still not great AU$2,199 on the
HP Official eBay store (and the same AU$2,199 direct from HP ). But now you can save an extra 20% off with code HPDC20 , bringing it down to AU$1,699.20. And thats about AU$60 more than Black Friday, it's still pretty competitive with other RTX 5060 gaming laptop deals right now especially since the
Victus has 24GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD and a 1080p, 144Hz display. Note that it is running an 80W TGP (vs 100W, making it 10-15% slower), but thats normal at this price.

You can also grab the RTX 5050 variant for AU$1,499.20 with the same code. View Deal

This gaming laptop launched back in early June and has been AU$2,599.60 until recently, but has now dropped to AU$1,999.80. You can now also get an extra 13% off using the code FUTURE13% bringing the price down to the lowest we have seen. This model only has a TGP of 80W, so it's slower than a 115W TGP RTX 5060, but it's still a reasonable deal for the specs if you want a more efficient but gaming capable machine with a big 16-inch, 2560 x 1600 120Hz display.

You can also get the RTX 5050 variant for AU$1,564.65 using the same code . View Deal

While we would not normally recommend an RTX 5060 gaming laptop for AU$1,999 (using code HPDC20 ), prices are up across the board for gaming hardware, and the Omen 16 has a few key advantages that make the extra cost worth it. For a start, it's a larger 16-inch machine (with a 2560 x 1600 display), has 32GB
of RAM, a powerful Ryzen 9 8940HX CPU and extras like a big 83Wh battery and
a 4-zone RGB keyboard. The 5060 has a 115W TGP too, putting performance
around 15% to 20% ahead of the HP Victus with the 5060 at an 80W TGP. Considering it's only about 13% more (AU$240) than the lesser Victus 15 5060 machine, I think that is a premium well worth paying. View Deal

The AMD variant of the excellent Legion Pro is AU$200 more than Black Friday, but is still a reasonable deal for the RTX 5070 model. While the spec is very similar to the Intel variant, you do get a 2560 x 1600, 240Hz IPS display, rather than a 165Hz OLED, which some people may prefer. View Deal

The AMD variant of the excellent legion Pro has an solid discount on the RTX 5070 model right now. The spec is very similar to the Intel variant (just
    with a Ryzen 9 9955HX CPU, including the same 2560 x 1600, 165Hz OLED
display, but you save almost AU$200. View Deal

This mighty gaming laptop was an unrealistic AU$4,198.70 back in June, but it has now dropped to AU$3,098.70. Then use the coupon code FUTURE13% at
checkout to bring the price down to AU$2,695.87. That's pretty great for an RTX 5070 machine with an Ultra 9 CPU, 32GB of RAM and a large 16-inch 2560 x 1600 240Hz display. View Deal

Our colleagues over at PC Gamer named this Nvidia GeForce 5070-powered beast as the best mid-range gaming laptop in Australia right now, citing its
ability to run demanding games at high framerates while also coming in at a competitive price point for its specs. The reviewer noted the relatively low battery life and some design quirks as some of the Vector 16s weak points,
but the price to performance ratio with this discount is hard to argue with. View Deal

The Pro model of one of our favourite Lenovo laptops has a decent discount on the RTX 5070 variant, though it is AU$100 more than on Black Friday. Sure,
the web price before discount is beyond steep, but on sale it's excellent value for a premium gaming machine with an OLED, 2560 x 1600, 165Hz display.

Or score the Legion Pro 7i with an RTX 5070 Ti, 5080 or 5090 GPU for up to

Go back to top Boxing Day early laptop deals are here (Image credit:
    Future)

Afternoon all, and welcome to our live coverage of Boxing Day laptop deals in Australia.

While Boxing Day isn't officially until December 26, the sales have already started to roll in from the big brands and retailers. Some of them are genuinely great prices on machines I have been watching for months.

    Others are... less impressive....

And that's what this live blog is here for. I spent the year tracking laptop prices and promos so I have a clear idea of what a fair street price looks like, and what a real discount is versus an inflated RRP.

To vet a deal, I check its recent price history and prices during previous sales to see whether it is actually a saving worth caring about.

Laptops are usually at their most competitive around Black Friday through to the Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year period, but the sheer number of configurations, coupon codes and, uh, creative pricing strategies from
sellers can make it hard to know where to start.

But fear not, as I will highlight the offers that stand out for value, not just the biggest percentage claims, whether you are after an affordable machine for work or study, a creator laptop with a colour accurate screen or
a gaming rig from budgets big to small.

Behind the scenes I will be living in the glow of spreadsheets across four displays, and I will keep updating this page right through to Boxing Day itself.

So bookmark this page and check it regularly to see the latest price changes and new deals.
