From Nightfox@DIGDIST to All on Thu Aug 6 20:45:00 2009
I'd like to welcome all sysops to MusicalNet! My goal with MusicalNet is to provide a forum for people to discuss music - listening to music and playing music.

If any of you (sysops) are having trouble receiving or posting messages to
the network, feel free to let me know. My BBS is Digital Distortion, and the address is digdist.bbsindex.com. And my internet email address is eric.oulashin@gmail.com .

    Lightning BBS now carries MusicalNet!

I used to love making gangster beats on my PC with FruityLoops...
I don't have or play any actual musical instruments :(
However I love and am quite proficient with all the PC based music makers
that have been around over the years.

Goldwave is my favorite .wav editor and magic wand.
Also like many others, I have those CD's with thousands of high res .wav's
of drums, keyboards, vocals, and various instruments.

I suppose I like the Techno DJ aspect of it all, and my neighborhood friends like making "gangster beats" on it when they come over.

Haven't done it in a while. Need to get back into it.

If they're old enough, maybe someone here remembers the "demo scene" in the true BBS days, with groups like Future Crew and so forth.

Or even "Fast Tracker ][" for DOS... lol that was the best!!!

Hi, it's datavase (from datavase BBS) here.

I have included MusicalNet into my system. Some know me from ASTRO-Net :-D

About me and music... I'm what my friends describe as a "frustrated musician" :P I've been playing electric guitars since I was around 16 years old (that
was a loooong time ago) and drums as well a bit.

Currently I have an Ibanez RG320DX plugged into a V-AMP 3, and a Roland TD-4K electronic drumkit. The drumkit is sitting in the box since almost a week
after I bought. My neighbour downstairs complained about the vibrations :-(

I'm planning to move to a ground floor flat during next month, hope I'll be able to play drums again :-D

I have played in 3 different bands (with not too much, if any, success). First band was a duo, trying to combine electronic music with metal (kind of what Rammstein have succesfully done), second band was a Thrash Metal band, and
last one was a rock-blues band.

    Well, that was my introduction.

Glad to be part of MusicalNet.

    Cheers,
    Dave (datavase)

Hi, it's datavase (from datavase BBS) here.

    Welcome to MusicalNet. :)

Currently I have an Ibanez RG320DX plugged into a V-AMP 3, and a Roland T electronic drumkit. The drumkit is sitting in the box since almost a week after I bought. My neighbour downstairs complained about the vibrations :

That's cool (except for the neighbor complaints). :)

I'm planning to move to a ground floor flat during next month, hope I'll able to play drums again :-D

From someone who lives in an upstairs apartment, I can tell you that noise from downstairs goes upstairs as well. Just part of living in an apartment. :(

It's good to see another member on MusicalNet. :)

It's good to see more QWK networks growing up in this world of phpBB
