    Hey...

    As a kid growin' up, I always loved Devo...but I was surfing on Youtube tonight & found "Whip It" so, I clicked on it.

    THERE WAS A FUCKING GEICO COMMERCIAL ON IT!

    ****FUCK DEVO!!!****

    Ya, I know they were advertising executives in Ohio before they started the band...but SELLING OUT ___***NOW***___????!

    As we used to say...."B--Bu--Buh-Buhh---Blow me!"

    Wow.. Having always liked Devo, you now don't like Devo because you saw that they're advertising for Geico? :)

    I've always thought they were all right. I can say I like them. I just don't see why geico has to advertise at the beginning of videos on youtube.

    Every once in a while they come out with an 'ok' commercial & I've even put up with how they're on every channel all the time every day over and over and over.

    But now they're invading youtube?

    I'm gonna track down that little lizard and use him for fish bait.

    I just did a search for Devo on YouTube and loaded the "Whip It" video (the first one in the search results). The video had some iPhone ad at the beginning, so I guess it's not just Geico that's advertising in videos there.

    YouTube has to make money somehow, so I guess I'm not really surprised. I've already seen ads placed on YouTube's pages, and those ads that pop up at the bottom of YouTube videos when they begin playing (which I find particularly annoying), and I guess now YouTube is also selling ads at the beginning of their videos too.

    I think the reason why many web sites that provide a service (YouTube, Google, etc.) are free for us to use is advertising.. Without the ads, they'd probably
    charge fees for the end user to pay for using their site.
