    I have some weird timing issue with the latest pre-build of the
    CCPU version. In ice edit, the clock goes wild. I had to set
    the door to pause the users time limit, but not all doors have
    that option. Others, complain about time running out and my
    lightbar reader craps out after reading messages. It just goes
    back to the previous screen. has anyone experienced issues like
    this? I tried to install the haxm version, but that just keeps
    complaining about not being installed. I haven't tried any other
    versions, or building it myself. I don't think I'm brave enough
    for that!

    Is there any way in RA compatible boards to disable the idle time
    or time limits? I've tried passing *! in the type 7 command and
    setting the idle time to 0 or 32767 without any change in
    behavior.

    I gave up. Windows 11 with NTVDMx64 was totally unusable for me. I gave up
    on my new PCs (what a waste of money...) and went back to the laptop with a win11 host and a win10 32 bit guest VM. It works pretty well, except for
    some occasional VM shenanigans.

    I don't understand the need to cross-post that which you wrote in another Net into here... where you will likely get the exact same responses.

    NTVDM beyond Windows 7 32-bit will be guaranteed nothing but problems.

    Microsoft published an update for Windows 10 32-bit which rendered NTVDM completely unreliable and unstable. Stuff may run for days, weeks, maybe even a few months then suddenly without warning it will all crap out. Problems which never happened on XP and 7.

    You are far better to set up a real XP/7 computer or VM where most if not all classic BBS stuff will run correctly.

    This is friendly advice from an MS-DOS FTN developer.

    Different audiences. I can't run any 32 bit os on the mini PC. I don't have room for even an SFF PC in a studio apartment. I only have room for Mini PCs. If there's one powerful enough for this (4 cores, 4 threads at least and 4GB RAM with gen 3 NvME SSD Support) that I could install a 32 bit windows
    10 on, I'd be all for it. I haven't found one yet. Windows 10 32 bit NTVDM support has been good enough for me so far. I've had a couple of issues, but they've been due to the VM, not NTVDM support.

    I know its easy to have a visceral reaction when someone replies with "As someone who is experienced" but please take it as friendly advice from
    someone who went through absolute frustration of NTVDM on 10... on the LTSC Enterprise version of 10 nonetheless.

    Myself, Sean and some others have worked in shops where XP/7 laptops were tossed in bins by the dozens... hundreds even... maybe more... They are abundant and can be found for the price of a bad Friday night pizza.

    The IBM R51 I had was one of them. It ran Darkrealms for years. Lid closed, one time parked under my bed with just power, Ethernet and a dialup line...
    all accessed by RDP.

    And yes I had a tiny apartment at the time... when theres a will theres a way.

    Ordered a: HP EliteDesk 800 G3 SFF Windows 10 PC (Intel Core i5 / 8GB RAM / 256GB SSD) with an i5-7500. I like the Form Factor, it'll fit nicely under
    my printer. I just don't relish the power draw compared to a mini-pc. I shouldn't have any problems installing win 10 32 bit on it or running the
    bbs. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this mini PC, if I'll send it
    back or find another use for it. Thanks for the inspiration!
