It didnt help us get into the Christmas spirit much considering it
was almosts 80 degrees outside. This morning, however, its 19.

Mother Nature must be getting direction from retailers!

I usually enjoy the first snow of the year, especially if I don't have to
get out and drive in it. The snows I don't like are the ones that come in
and bring a bunch of < 20F days behind them, and the ones that seem to
    stick around all winter.

We usually seem to get about one of the former every year, but the latter
only happens once every so many years.

Sometimes it has barely snowed and if the ground is cold enough the snow
will accoumulate on the driveway, cars, etc., but falls right through
    the shrubs and grass.

age six. Some pretty significant stuff happened during that period, not

There are bits and pieces that I can remember directly, but very very few, from before age 5. What I remember after that is limited, but not as much
as before. There are a lot of memories that I have that I can only assign
to an age range. The ones that I can point to an age for are the ones
that happened or around school, which is why I can say what age I was.

I wonder ifchool has anything to do with your age 6 cutoff?

I like one good snow per winter, then I'm happy. Unfortunately, we
seem to get more ice or tornadoes. This year marks 27 years since
Arkansas' deadliest tornado event...56 tornadoes in 6 hours. The
National Weather Service was issuing a new tornado warning, on an
    average of every 6 minutes!!

The rain curtain surrounding an F-4 tornado that was only a mile
away, was just down my street!! That tornado destroyed a grocery
store just south of downtown Little Rock, and the same supercell
dropped an F-2 tornado on a high school gym 45 miles north of Little
    Rock.

A basketball game was in progress, but they were monitoring the
amateur radio operators via Arkansas Skywarn. They stopped the game
at halftime, and evacuated the premises. 30 minutes later, the F-2
tornado made a direct hit on the property, flattening the gym, and
doing heavy damage to the school.

I was in Miami on Jan. 19, 1977, when snow fell there for the first
time in recorded history. They observed it at Miami International
Airport, and had 3 inches just north of Miami in the community of
    Carol City.

But that year, much of Florida's citrus crop was destroyed, and
the prices of various juices and other products went through the
    roof!!

The tourists were furious..."I came down here to get away from
    all of this!!".
