I Moved my Mystic from Windows to Debian a few months ago, and it doesn't have the Taglines feature of the windows version. Am I mis something or am am I just out-of-luck?

It most definitely does have the tagline feature.

I can't see it. Normally that's where it is but maybe the Debian version source make didn't include it. Thanks though.

It should be right in the config screen under the "other" pulldown, called "edit taglines". It may be possible that menu might not exist if the file does not exist, so I would check to see if you taglines.dat in your data/ dir.

Ya. I do have the taglines.dat file, but there is no option to edit them in
the config. I'm still thinking the feature isn't available on Debian, though
    I can't figure out why.

Look below at your tearline that I quoted. You are using a very old version of Mystic, and probably don't have the tagline editor. If you want to continue using an old and outdated version of Mystic, you will most likely need to edit taglines.dat manually (outside of Mystic or it's configuration). This has nothing to do with Debian, as the Linux version of Mystic works the exact same as the Windows version, and has the exact same features and configurations as it would on every other operating system it installs on.

The latest stable version of Mystic is v1.12 A48, and there is also the latest alpha A49 version, both available at mysticbbs.com. If you decide to update, make sure to read upgrade.txt in the 'docs' folder and follow the instructions (most likely you just need the new binaries). Then, a tagline editor will be located in Mystic's configuration under the "Other" tab, labeled "G Edit Global Taglines".

The tagline feature won't be os dependant. It will most likely be that your running such a *old* version of mystic.
If James was here, the first thing he would tell you is to update to a newer/current version.

This is correct, taglines were introduced in A47 which was released in
    December of 2021.

You didn't. You just shoot your damn mouth off.

I was using an older version. I was happy with it. I was just wondering about the taglines feature. I updated this morning (took 10 minutes) and the bbs has taglines.

Oh, but I did. 11 days ago, after you originally asked about taglines. It's possible this time around, I was a bit shocked that you asked the same question again after I had already answered you, and came off a bit annoyed. For that, I'll apologize. Either way, here was my original reply to you:

Not sure what you mean by "the Debian version source".

I have the Linux 64-bit version installed in a VM, and it's there plain as day.

    --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A43 2019/02/26 (Linux/64)

Could be that you're running an old version. Maybe taglines weren't added until a later alpha.

Thanks for the confirmation! I didn't feel like looking it up at the time, as I was fairly certain I was (at the very least) in the ballpark. ;)
