TIL there's such a thing as "meteorological seasons" which this script was using for some reason:
"Meteorological seasons divide the year into consistent, three-month periods based on the annual temperature cycle, making it easier for record-keeping, agriculture, and commerce; they define winter as Dec-Jan-Feb, spring as Mar-Apr-May, summer as Jun-Jul-Aug, and fall as Sep-Oct-Nov, starting on the first day of the months (Dec 1, Mar 1, etc.) for fixed intervals, unlike astronomical seasons which vary with Earth's orbit."
I've now updated the script to use "astronomical seasons", so tomorrow you'll see Northern Hemisphere: Autumn & Southern Hemisphere: Spring until the 21st when the seasons actually change.
Here in Ontario it has felt like winter for quite some time, so maybe we SHOULD be using meteorological seasons...
