This weekend, Trump surprised the world by kidnapping a government leader and attacking another country without warning.

You can hate Maduro as much as you like, but in the "civilized world," we have rules. Rules that the US, just like Russia and China, repeatedly flouts.

The US could have done this under a UN mandate. Trump would have had to ask Congress for permission in the US. The last word on this topic hasn't been said yet. The worst part is: it was all done without a legitimate reason.

Trump says drugs, but virtually no drugs come from Venezuela. Moreover, he recently pardoned a major drug dealer. So, it's not drugs.

What is it? A distraction from the Epstein files? Undoubtedly, but there's more to it. Trump's incredibly poor poll numbers also play a role. A foreign enemy for the distraction is therefore ideal. But I see the best motivation elsewhere.

Behind Trump are people who still keep track of long-term American policy. While Trump may be an idiot politically and historically, the political people behind Trump (Project 2025) are not. They saw that Maduro had made a deal with China and started selling oil in the yuan, thus undermining the dominance of the US dollar. Something that literally cost Hussein and Gaddafi their heads.

At its core, the US hasn't changed. Trump may be a clown, but that clown is controlled by the same powerful people who have been truly in power for a long time. They've demonstrated their influence again here, and Trump can now try to sell this bullshit, just as Bush Jr. had to do.

Two clowns pulling the strings for a show.

Meanwhile, it's astonishing to see that the military operation to kidnap Maduro was executed brilliantly, but it's equally astonishing to see that there has been absolutely no thought whatsoever about what happens next. Maduro is gone... yes, and then a hole appears, and American politicians start claiming all sorts of things like a headless chicken, and it's clear they haven't thought about any follow-up steps at all. Political incompetence on a biblical scale.

In an effort to keep this simple,

Using US troops to execute an arrest warrant by invading a soverign country sets an insanely dangerous precedence and is generally avoided for good reason. Namely, you just opened the door for another country either overtly through the use of force or covertly by kinapping your own citizens by the agents of another country who might swear our a criminal warrant and the US blocks formal extradition. You can't have your cake and eat it too!

Once again, the Trump administration has ignored established diplomatic and legal due process to do things his own way. Not giving a damn about the political and future national security implications.

Biden's Department of State raised an already existing bounty for Maduro's capture from 15 million dollars to 25 million dollars.

So who's supposed to capture him then? Dog the bounty hunter?

Any country can swear out a warrant, it is up to the country of that indicted to honnor or not honnor the extridition within the framework of any signed extradition treaties.

If extradition is not granted, the only LEGAL recourse is to bide your time until they travel outside their country and are picked up abroad under an Interpol red notice.

However, you have completely ignored my point, and who issued the original warrant, who raised the bounty, etc. Has nothing to do with the risks of violating a countries Sovereignty to enfore your laws and penalties outside your baords. Turn abot is fair play, so if (take your pick of countries), start kidnapping people off the streats of the US, forceably extraditing them back to who knows where, as long as there is a piece of paper somewhere, and there was some dubious process followed.. Don't bitch...

Then who would ever get the reward money then?

Also: The president has the authority to deploy troops for up to 60 days without congress' approval. He got the job done in just 1 day. Imagine all the good deeds he can deploy the military for over the next 3 years. They're gonna be busy!
