From Rob Swindell (on Windows 11)@VERT to Git commit to main/sbbs/master on Sat Jan 10 22:22:07 2026
    https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/commit/fd7562412e71fb22b80e6d01
    Modified Files:
    ctrl/main.ini
    Log Message:
Don't install msglist as mail read module by default

This module still fails pretty badly for narrow (e.g. 40col) terminals

A configurable ARS for some loadable would be a good idea and allow a sysop
to use built-in functions for some users and loadable modules for others.

One thing I've thought would be handy would be to have a user preference option for that as well. For instance, if a sysop has msglist or DDMsgReader set up for the loadable module to list/read messages, it may be useful to have a toggle option in the user preferences so users can specify whether they want to use that or the stock Synchronet reader/lister.

Yeah, multiple modules makes sense for some operations (e.g. list msgs). An ARS could be used to enable a user-toggle as well (e.g. using a security flag).
