What area would that be? The only one I've seen on Dove-net that's at least remotely related is Pro Audio, but I think that's more about audio equipment than music.

That would work, though entertainment covers a lot of things, not just music.

There's "Entertainment" and "Pro-audio", not specifically music. I think the Entertainment conference probabably sufficiently covers the topic though.

That's where I'd expect that topic to be, along with Movies, gaming, and whatever else that's entertaining.

I think a sub-board/echo specific to Music, while possibly flaring up at times with discussion, would probably end up more dormant than used. I mean, you guys only talk about Rush a few times per year. :)

Ha! I know, like how many times are *you* going to see Rush next year? Myself, that answers is "at least 3 times". :-P

<joking> But, but, but, this is the Sysop sub. This would be more on topic in the Entertainment sub. :D

Jokes aside, that's awesome that you still get yourself to multiple concerts! The last show I went to was Slayer in 2015.

Work and kids sports has taken over most free time pretty fierce since then. While I do miss concerts quite a bit, I will also always remember all the traveling for my kids tournaments, progression of skills and themselves as people while growing up, etc. Been doing this for about 10+ years now, whether it be school or club. It's all year long, and I only have a few years of it left, unless the youngest decides to go to college (then I may have a few more). ;)

I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when there's no more weekend tournaments, but it may definitely free up quite a bit of time to go to a few shows!

It is active but not super active so I am sure it could easily cover the bandwidth of whatever conversations the OP thinks we are missing out on. ;)

I don't get to as many as I used to, but with the Rush reunion/tour, very likely their last, I can't miss every opportunity to see that.

College sports - that's gettting pretty serious then! My oldest daughter played volleyball pretty seriously (club and varsity HS) and softball for a season before that. And then there was concert, jazz and marching bands with the middle one (6:00am practice was a killer), choir with youngest. I know what you mean!

My daughters (especially the middle one) drag me to concerts now. The last one was Iron Maiden (with Nicko still) last year and Peter Gabriel before that. I also endeavor to *play* live music more too, but that might have to wait until my work/travel situation has settled down again.

Hopefully in your case they decide to do what everyone else is doing. Farewell tours, but then keep touring afterwards. ;)

As for college sports, we will see. She's currently a freshman in high school, so we have some time. She's been playing club for probably 4-5 years now, and middle school, and now HS volleyball, too (not varsity, yet - our school is pretty well off when it comes to girls volleyball talent, so they ended up making a full freshman team (basically a JV2) with our girls (half of them play club, also). They ended up winning their conference tournament, though.. so should be an exciting few years for them when they all start moving up to JV and Varsity.

That's awesome! I'm kinda hoping that happens with my son. Every time I hop in his car or go somewhere with him, his phone hooks up and goes right to music that's right up my alley. ;)
