    Hey All,

    I'm greyb34rd, the SysOp for v01d c1ph3r BBS.

I ran a Renegade then later RA BBS in the early to mid 1990s, then a few yearsago got back into BBSes starting with Mystic (CaNerDUH, still up and running)and now I'm focusing more on Synchronet and having a blast with it.

I'm not a developer by trade, rather a SysAdmin but I'm trying to teach thisold dog new tricks and slowly, between usual real life events, getting better.

From work I use PowerShell a lot, and also SQL and Python. I'm mostly workingon learning C# which I really enjoy. I've also learned just enough JavaScriptto be dangerous and write my own Command Shell. I also like to dabble in Pascaland have written a couple of custom tools for work with Lazarus.

Anyway, from what I've seen of DeveloperNet it seems very friendly so I hope my[probably] very basic problems/questions won't be a problem!

    Thanks,
    Travis 'greyb34rd' Mehrer

Welcome. Glad to see your post. I also run synchronet
on Too Lazy BBS. I'm interested but have not gotten
very far with javascript with it. I have modified a
command shell; but far from writing my own.

Look forward to following your posts.

    Hey All,
    I'm greyb34rd, the SysOp for v01d c1ph3r BBS.

    Greetings greyb34rd,

Good to see some activity on the echo. I'm also a C# and JavaScript fan. I've written my own BBS software using C# and JS that has a built in ANSI to HTML emulator. I'm a former senior software engineer, been retired two years now and have gotten back to programming for a hobby again, which I really love. Anyways, welcome aboard!

Honestly there isn't a whole lot of activity on DeveloperNet, but there are people who watch for & reply to messages.

That's cool. When you say you're writing a command shell with JavaScript, are you doing so for Synchronet?

I've used C# for multiple projects, and I like it.
