Hi all, especially net admins.

A heads up and a query. Rob Swindell AKA Digital Man, the developer of Synchronet is writing an extension that makes it easier for sysops to add new FTN nets to their systems, once they've been given a feed. I have given Rob permission to include my net - VKRadio in this system, and have made provisions to help the script work. Those provisions are a publicly available infopack and echolist (*.na file).

As I am the FTN gateway for DeveloperNet and MusicalNet, I'm asking whether you, especially the net admins, think this would be something appropriate for these nets, to make it easier for new Synchronet sysops to configure their systems after joining.

What do you think?

I wouldn't mind it being available.

This would be to help new sysops get connected - sumbit an application, and when approved, setup with their shiny new node number. :)

I'm all for it, and have made sure DM has the necessary information for VKRadio, so he can include that net in his package. And if other BBS software deveopers follow suit with a similar system, I'll support them as well. I've already done it for VKRadio, because that's 100% my net (I manage both FTN and QWK), which meant I had the final say. :)

Anything to make it easier for new sysops to join up is a good thing. :)

And Chuck Norris doesn't even have to configure his BBS - His BBS configures itself out of fear.
